A personal letter to my LuLu’s Community on COVID-19

 

As most of you already know, my three LuLu’s locations are very close to my heart and I consider everyone who visits our restaurants to be a part of the LuLu’s family. That’s why I want to reach out to you personally. In the face of the coronavirus, we are doing everything possible to provide extra safeguards to protect the health and wellness of our guests, staff, vendors and the communities we serve.

 

We know one of the things our guests love about LuLu’s is that I am a stickler on cleanliness. Maintaining sanitary conditions is always at the forefront of our operations. With today’s circumstances, we’ve geared up our comprehensive health and safety protocols, with an increased focus on high-touch areas, using sanitizing and disinfectant formulas recommended by the CDC.

 

We want to assure you that we are closely following the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) guidelines and recommendations on what precautionary steps to take in response to this developing situation. To help prevent the spread of germs, we are encouraging employees to follow the guidance of the CDC and stay home when not feeling well.

This situation is moving rapidly with parameters changing day by day. Please know that my team is on top of it and will adjust as needed, keeping you informed every step along the way. Most importantly, we must take this seriously by following guidelines, but we must stay calm.

 

I am a consummate optimist and as news continues to unfold about the status of this very real challenge, I am passionately confident systems and solutions are currently being created to confront and neutralize this health crisis. In Buffett sailing terms, we must simply “stay the course,” be smart and follow the advice of the experts knowing life will return to normal. In our twenty-year history, LuLu’s has weathered many scenarios beyond our control from hurricanes to an oil spill, always holding faith that “this too shall pass,” as we join together to aid and assist where needed.

 

Please know that the well-being of you, my treasured customer, and my extra-ordinary team, is my highest priority. We will continue to monitor this situation and operate as usual, with the intention for you to continue to enjoy the atmosphere, hospitality and great food we offer at all of our open-air locations.
