Phil & Foster is an acoustic/electric duo specializing in high energy roots music. They draw heavily on rural American musical styles including bluegrass, country, folk and blues. Phil Proctor (guitar, mandolin, vocals) has played with the Dog River Boys, Phil & Walon, the Deluxe Trio and is currently in the Marlow Boys. Stan Foster (vocals, bass) has spent over twenty years as bassist and frontman for bluegrass renegades Rollin’ in the Hay. Stan was also in Custer & Foster, the Deluxe Trio and also plays with the Marlow Boys. Playing together since 2012, Phil & Foster have forged a musical partnership that finds strength in their instrumental dexterity, beauty in their vocal harmonies and excitement in their energetic stage show. Their setlist includes original compositions as well as classics from Bill Monroe, Stanley Brothers, Hank Williams, Flying Burrito Brothers, and many others. Their long residency at Callaghan’s Irish Social Club in Mobile (recently named Best Bar in the South by Southern Living Magazine) attests to their professionalism and longevity. Phil & Foster always deliver!
